Ron DeSantis amended his Monday executive order on Wednesday to add seven counties: Glades, Hendry, Lake, Okeechobee, Palm Beach, Seminole and Volusia. The Florida Division of Emergency Management said the move strengthens the state's ability to keep deploying critical resources.

Locally, Commissioner Gregg Weiss said, "Parts of West Palm Beach received over 22 inches of rain." He described it as the kind of extreme event some characterize as a "one-in-1,000-type" storm. NewsRadio WIOD reported that Riviera Beach and Port St. Lucie have some of the worst neighborhood flooding in the state.
