If you live near Palm Beach Gardens, Monday was a stay-home day. More than 15 inches of rain fell in parts of Palm Beach Gardens, Riviera Beach and The Acreage in about 12 hours, and the city said some roads were impassable.
NOAA Atlas 14 data puts 13 inches at a 1-in-100-year event, the city said, so 15 inches approaches a 1-in-200-year one. The city reported street flooding in Sandtree, PGA National, Steeplechase, Horseshoe Acres and Montecito. We suggest staying off flooded roads.
